POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights
(ODIHR)
is looking for a qualified candidate who will, under the direct
supervision of the Adviser on Anti-Trafficking Issues, monitor
and
report on trafficking in human beings within the OSCE region.
You will identify, design, implement and evaluate specific
projects
to counteract trafficking in human beings in OSCE participating
States. You will work with OSCE field missions to fulfill OSCE
commitments in the field of trafficking in human beings. In
carrying
out your duties, you will co-operate with similar international,
governmental and non-governmental human rights protection
institutions and independent experts, with the aim of exchanging
information and co-ordinating activities as well as implementing
common programs.
You will also analyze the situation with regard to trafficking in
human beings in the OSCE region and prepare general and issue-
specific reports or other background materials on trafficking in
human beings for ODIHR management. You will assist the Adviser in
soliciting and reviewing proposals to the Anti-Trafficking
Project
Fund from the OSCE field missions.
You will handle requests to ODIHR for information on trafficking
in
human beings, including follow-up to specific cases of human
rights
violation and represent the supervisor in periods of absence.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree in international relations/political science,
social sciences or other related field; advanced degree
preferred.
- Minimum of four years of progressively responsible professional
experience in the field of trafficking in human beings and/or
related
human rights fields.
- Awareness of international co-operation principles, concepts
and
techniques as well as knowledge of the functioning of relevant
national institutions/government offices or involvement in the
activities of non-governmental organizations would be an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of English, with good drafting and editing
skills. Working knowledge of other official OSCE languages and/or
languages spoken in SEE desirable.
