Position: FFP Caseworker
Grade: R42
Position Description: Under the supervision of the Program Specialist,=20
provide case management services to trafficked persons including advocating=
=20
on the behalf of clients. This position requires maintenance of a client=20
database and client case files; the cultivation of additional community=20
resources and services in the defined service area.
Responsibilities:
=B7 Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Trafficking=
=20
Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of October 2000, accompanying regulations,=20
and related policies concerning trafficking.
=B7 Obtain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Match Grant=
=20
eligibility requirements and program guidelines, as well as IRC=20
resettlement protocol and standards.
=B7 Obtain knowledge of benefits issuing agencies (Dept. of Children=
=20
and Families, SSA, Dept. Motor Vehicles, Childcare, etc.) and advocate on=20
the behalf of clients to obtain these benefits.
=B7 Responsible for initial client contact and conducting initial=20
intakes of potential trafficking victims either on or off-site depending on=
=20
the circumstances.
=B7 Provide case management services and community orientation to=20
clients, including a thorough description of available services and their=20
legal rights. Responsible for making appropriate referrals to clients to=20
ensure that all client needs are fulfilled including accompanying them to=20
all appointments.
=B7 Responsible for opening client case files and maintaining detailed=
=20
record keeping of all client contacts, including all telephone contacts and=
=20
referrals.
=B7 Record and track in-kind donations for IRC and for FFP for the=20
valuation of in-kind goods and services received by the client.
=B7 Participate in the maintenance of the project website as an=20
informational and educational resource for the community. Update and=20
maintain website.
=B7 Participate in trainings/meetings offered in the community that=20
will advance professional development and enhance quality of services to=20
clients.
=B7 Attend bi-weekly staff meetings held by the IRC Regional Director.
=B7 All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
=B7 Bachelor Degree desirable.
=B7 Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish preferred,=20
additional languages an advantage.
=B7 Ability to handle complex and sensitive cases and to work=20
effectively with clients who have a wide range of psycho-social,=20
protection, health, immigration and criminal justice issues.
=B7 Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
=B7 Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize and manage time=20
effectively
=B7 Ability to be flexible and be a team player.
=B7 Willingness and ability to be on-call on a rotational basis 24=20
hours/day, 7 days/week to provide immediate assistance to trafficked=
persons.
=B7 Ability to communicate and work effectively with collaborative=20
partners, the community, and clients in a cross-cultural,=20
multi-disciplinary environment.
=B7 Commitment to preserve client confidentiality.
